CSDC and its partner Unisys are excited to announce the launch of Province of Nova Scotia’s Access to Information portal. This new service is an effort by the Province to provide a more open and transparent government. This citizen facing website and the back office enterprise systems are powered by AMANDA.
By visiting https://foipop.novascotia.ca, Nova Scotians can access the Disclosure Log and the Access to Information Account. Using the Disclosure Log, users can search completed FOIPOP (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy) Requests to determine if similar information was previously disclosed. By creating an Access to Information account, they will be able to submit a request, monitor the progress of the application, receive responses and pay fees online. These new options for Nova Scotians builds on past successes that improved the response time to freedom of information requests from 78% completed within 30 days in 2014 to 84% in 2016.
